Great news! In an exclusive interview to MTV , Jake revealed he has joined the I Am Number Four cast. The movie is based on the forthcoming science fiction novel by the same name, written by James Frey and Jobie Hughes. D.J. Caruso will be directing the movie.

The sci-fi story focuses on nine aliens who survive the destruction of their home world at the hands of a ruthless rival species. The survivors flee to Earth and blend into their human surroundings in order to hide from the aliens who continue to hunt them.

Jake will be playing a high school quarterback by the name of Mark James, who is threatened by the arrival of Number Four (played by Alex Pettyfer).

On a Supernatural related note, showrunner and creator Eric Kripke is stepping down next season and leaving the show in the more than capable hands of Sera Gamble. Kripke will stay on as Executive Producer though. To thank Kripke for bringing the fans a show that’s so widely loved, a couple of fans have started an initiative to thank him. They’re trying to raise money so that an ad can be placed in the Hollywood Reporter Trade paper to thank Kripke for all of his hard work. They need 3,600 dollars! Good news on the Jake front today!

First of all, tomorrow Jake will appear in the season’s finale of Supernatural, which will air on the CW at 9/8 central. Sadly, the CW hasn’t released any stills or sneak peeks with Jake in it, but the trailer looks fantastic. Supernatural fans, it’s going to he one hell of a ride!!! Watch the trailer HERE .

Second, remember our entry about the MTV movie awards? Well, Jake and Logan got nominated for best fight!! You can vote HERE . Be sure to vote, guys, because we’ve got tough competition!

Jake spoke to JustJaredJr and had this to say about it: ““Six years ago, I sat in the nosebleeds with my family watching the awards as a fan. Now I’m a nominee and we won’t have to use binoculars to see the show!”

We just came up with an awesome idea: we’re going to make a FANLIST. What is this fanlist? Well, it’s a list (hah, bet you didn’t see that coming) of us, the fans (again, shocking) with a couple of details on who you are and why you love Jake! We’ve made a page for it in our ‘Fan Section’ ( HERE ), so that if Jake ever visits the site, he’ll hopefully stumble across it and see how much we care about him.

We do need a name for ourselves though, like, Kiowa Gordon fans are Ki-hards. Any suggestions on how we should be called?

Why I love Jake: I love Jake because he’s an awesome actor and seems to be really connecting with his characters, which intices the audience. Jake also seems to really care about his fans, which makes the thought of going to see him at any convention, exciting. It’s a shame he won’t be attending Asylum 4, but maybe next year. =)
