Couple of things for you today:

♥ First of all, today is our six month anniversary! That’s right, six months ago, Jake Abel Online opened for business! We’d like to thank you for your support and we hope that you’ll continue to visit this site for all things Jake!

♥ Second, a bit late, seeing as we’re already half way through September, but we’ve changed our Picture of The Month! The picture is from the 2009 Salute to Supernatural convention in Vancouver!

♥ Third, and you’ll find this a lot more fascinating than the above, Jake has a band called The Third Kind , together with bff Kyle Gallner and we assume more people but that we don’t know. They’ve put up two songs on PureVolume, right HERE . Enjoy!

At Random Acts, it’s our mission to conquer the world one random act of kindness at a time.

I’d like to take the time to talk about a non-profit organisation, The Random Act, that I think is worth checking out. It’s run by Misha Collins (the Supernatural fans among you might know him as the Angel Castiel) and a couple of his ‘minions’ (as Misha affectionately likes to call his fans).

It started when the earthquake hit Haiti and Misha set up page for donations. Fans raised $30,000 in one day! The project evolved into what’s now known as The Random Act. They support three different orphanages in Haiti as well as supporting Pakistan after the recent tragedy there. That’s not all! A part of their funding also goes to random acts of kindness (ie buying toys for kids).

On September fifth, Misha will run for charity. You can support him by making a pledge (ie: one dollar per kilometer he’ll run) or donate a flat rate (ie 20 dollars) to support him.

If you have a penny to spare, do donate and spread the word! What they’re doing is terrific. I’ve already donated!

We finally managed to find a good lay-out for our new banner, made by Lena for our banner competition! Sorry it took so long to get this up, but we’ve been busy. So, what does everyone think about our new banner and lay-out?

Since it’s August, we’ve also chosen a new Picture of The Month. This picture is from Jake’s appearance in the episode ‘Swan Song’, the season five finale of Supernatural.

Reminder: You can still vote for Jake and Logan Lerman for a Teen Choice Award for Best Fight (Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief). This is the last week that you can vote so go vote!

Don’t forget to tune in to the CW tomorrow, April 15th at 9/8 central, for the 100th episode of Supernatural, guest starring Jake as Adam Milligan, the third Winchester brother.

Today is a bit of a special day for us. We’ve been online for exactly one month!! Time flies by when you’re having fun, hahaha! The past month, we’ve had close to 4,000 hits which we’re absolutely thrilled about! We’re glad people are finding their way to the site and are finding our updates useful. We hope to be able to continue this way and that you will keep on supporting our site and of course, Jake!!

Anyway, time to get down to business:

* We’ve uploaded 18 new pictures from Jake’s panel at Jus in Bello and from the closing ceremony. Thanks to Janie-tangerine for allowing us to use the pictures! You can see them HERE .

* Reminder: You can still vote in the MTV Movie Awards! Jake is up in one category: best fight scene with Logan Lerman. Vote here . Percy Jackson is up in a couple of other categories as well. Check our previous post for more links!
