I am Number Four
July 23rd, 2010 | filed in: Award Shows,Interviews and Articles,Movies

In honor of some Behind The Scenes footage of I am Number Four that was released at Comic-Con yesterday, we bring you an update on the news surrounding Jake’s upcoming movie.

But first, I bet you’re all curious about the BTS footage: go HERE to check it out! Sadly, Jake isn’t in the video, but it looks cool anyway!

Summary: An adaptation of the upcoming young-adult sci-fi book by James Frey and Jobie Hughes.
The story is about a group of nine earthbound alien teens who escaped their planet just before it was destroyed by a hostile species. While the high school-aged kids assimilate, the title character (Pettyfer) discovers that he is being hunted by the enemy that blew up his planet..
Timothy Olyphant plays Henri, Number Four’s guardian and mentor who comes to Earth with him. Kevin Durand will play The Commander that is coming after Pettyfer’s character. Teresa Palmer plays Number Six and Dianna Agron is Sarah, a girl dating the head jock [JAO note: think that's Jake] who falls for Number Four. Callan McAuliffe is playing Number Four’s best friend.

As a promotional stunt, Entertainment Weekly released the first 9 pages of the book the movie is based on! The book will come out August 3th. You can read it HERE .

Screenwriter Marti Noxon talks about I am Number Four :
“It’s a big genre action-adventure,” says Noxon, “with the spirit of Spider-Man. It’s not an R-rated movie. It’s a family movie particularly aimed at teens. It’s really based on a series of books that are starting to come out. It’s a more classic kind of [story about] an unassuming guy who discovers he has extraordinary powers and it’s got a pretty strong love story element too, which was really fun to write for me. [Laughs] So it has a little bit of the Buffy-Angel relationship, it has that kind of feel. It’s being directed by D.J. Caruso, who did Disturbia. It’s big and visual and spooky and super hot.”
If you go HERE , you can watch a video interview with her!

Getting excited yet? Well, you won’t have to wait too long. The movie will hit theaters February 18th of 2011. What’s seven months? Let’s start counting down! And of course we’ll keep you updated! Hopefully, there will be some stuff with Jake soon!
